Sorry...

The old saying,
Words once said, can never be recalled,
Rings in my ears,
As the bitter words of truth,
Are silently slid my way.
Nothing can take back the things I've said,
No amount of words can make up,
For that which has happened.
All that can be done,
Is for me,
To learn from this experience,
For every experience,
Is a chance to learn.
For I regret nothing I've done,
I am only saddened by the outcome.
For now the ever powerful weapon of gossip,
Has taken this event,
And shared it with the world.
In one ear,
Out many mouths,
This string of twisted truths,
Willl circle the globe,
While the truth,
Is still putting on its shoes.
Nothing can be done,
To stop the momentum,
Of this great stone.
One must just wait,
Until the speed dies out,
And the piercing sting of lies,
Comes to a hault.
But by the times that happens,
The damage will be done,
No one will remember,
Where it started to roll,
Only what it was about,
And there isn't a single thing,
Any one can do.
Tiss the never ending cycle of life,
That we are all envelopped in,
Either by choice,
Or circumstance.

This essay expresses what I have felt so often. At first I felt regret and sorrow at certain experiences that I have created. Then I felt pain at having been at the root of certain events. But then I reread the line "For every experience, is a chance to learn" and I felt hope. Hope of being forgiven and hope of being able to forgive. Thank you
